French/English Translation. Is this correct?

I'm trying to translate part of a song into French, and keep the imagery and tone as intact as possible.



In English:



The clock ticks by, and the fires burn.

Remember the fallen when the wheel starts to turn.

In their name we fight, so sound the alarms.

To everyone here, this is a call to arms.



In French:



L'horloge par les tiques, et les feux br没lent.

Souvenez-vous de la tomb茅e lorsque la roue commence 脿 tourner.

En leur nom, nous combattons, d茅clencher les alarmes.

Pour tout le monde ici, c'est un appel aux armes.







I'm pretty sure I have conjugation errors, and probably many more mistakes in my translation. I'm also not sure that some of the words carry the same symbolic meaning in French (i.e. "wheel starts to turn" probably doesn't carry the same connotative meaning when literally translated). I want to revise it so it sounds right to a native speaker, while keeping the same message and tone.

LOL, you must have used an online translator! "tique" is an insect and means "tick" LOL

It should be:



L'horloge ne s'arr锚te pas (literally "the clock doesn't stop"), et les feux br没lent.

Souvenez-vous de ceux qui sont tomb茅s quand la roue commence 脿 tourner.

En leur nom nous combattons, ainsi / donc, faites retentir l'alarme / donnez l'alerte.

A tous ici, c'est un appel aux armes.



edit: for "the clock ticks by" we also say "le temps s'茅coule" (time passes)



edit: on second thought, you might be right when saying that "the wheel starts to turn" doesn't have the same meaning in French. But what do you think it means in English?French/English Translation. Is this correct?

It's not easy to translate, but I try



The clocks ticks by should mean "l'horloge tourne ( en faisant tic-tac)"

The fallen probably means " The fallen soldiers"

Sound the alarms : Donne le signal



So :



L'horloge fait tic-tac, et les feux br没lent

Souviens-toi de ceux qui sont tomb茅s, quand la roue commence 脿 tourner

C'est en leur nom que nous combattons, alors, donne le signal

Pour tout le monde ici c'est un appel aux armes.
